New Additions to Our Shop

We have been working hard and have added several new things to our Etsy shop.  We have 2 new skirts and 2 new onesies.

Our goal is to have at least 15 skirt patterns to offer so that is what we are working towards right now.  We have definitely found that when we have several different designs to choose from, we sell more of that item.

Our First Craft Show!

We will be attending our very first craft show at the end of May!  We are super excited about getting accepted to the Etsy Denton Summer Bazaar.

We have been sewing nonstop since we found out that we were accepted.  We've also been searching everywhere for pictures of other craft fair booths for inspiration and ideas.  We went garage saling this past weekend to look for some things to use to display our product.  Look for our post this weekend to show all the great things we found and what we plan to do with them.

Have you had your first craft fair?  Any tips for us?

Photoshop Fun!!

Well I haven't done very well so far with some of my 2012 resolutions, including trying to post something each week.  I am back on and I am going to continue trying to meet this goal.

I recently got aquainted with Photoshop and am now obsessed!  It has been so much fun learning how to make different things with it.  I have made some printable valentines cards.

I am also working on making some onesie month stickers.  My next thing to work on is finally starting Peyton's scrapbook.  We have so many pictures and it is going to be a monumental task.  Sure wish I would have started earlier :)

Resolutions for 2012

I am excited about the new year and and my mom and I have several resolutions we want to make this year.  Maybe putting them on record on our blog will help us to work towards them all year long!!

1. Make at least 100 sales in our Etsy shop
2. Have 100 items in our shop consistently
3. Keep up with blogging weekly
4. Make our own patterns to share and sell
5. Attend 1 craft fair
6. Learn more about photography
7. Lose weight!! (seems to be on the list every year, maybe this year we will stick to it)
8. Send at least 1 handwritten card to a friend or family member each month

I think that all of these goals are definitely attainable, but we are going to have to work hard.  No more 3 week breaks from the shop and promoting the shop.  I think one of the biggest things that will help us to reach these goals is to become better organized...which is one of my favorite things to do so that shouldn't be too hard.  What are your new year's resolutions?  Have any suggestions that might help us reach ours?

Yummy Things from Pinterest

I finally tried 2 of the recipes that I pinned on Pinterest and they were amazing!!!  The first thing I made was the sopapilla cheesecake.  It was so easy and tasted delicious.

I wasn't even able to get a picture of it before cutting into and trying it!!  I definitely will not be able to make this very often because it is not on the diet plan for losing weight though.  You can check out the recipe for this dish here.

I also made these wonton taco cups for dinner that night as well.  Again, such a super easy and delicious meal.  It was so nice to make something for dinner that did not take forever but was new and fresh!

Its a great party food.  I had 1 lb of beef and 1 can of beans and it made 24 taco cups.  It didn't take long to make and was pretty cheap.  I think this will be on our menu list at our next get together.  You can find the recipe for this dish here.

The Deal With Etsy Treasury Lists

I absolutely LOVE to make treasury lists.  I think it is so fun to look at the daily trends and come up with my own interpretation and then looking through all the items to decide which will go perfectly together.  When we first opened our Etsy shop this was one of the ways that was suggested for getting your shop name out there and increasing the number of views to your page.  I can definitely see how being in a treasury is helpful for increasing views, but I have not seen the benefit of making them.

I recently made a treasury list that seemed to have the perfect formula for Hotness!  I made it at about 6:00 pm and by the next morning it had over 1000 views! I couldn't believe it! So I would have thought that I would have had some sort of increase in the amount of people that visited my store.  However, I only had 13 shop views for the whole day!

We have recently redone all of our photos so I am hoping that maybe we will get selected to be in some treasury lists.  I will not stop making treasuries because I do really enjoy it, but I am curious if making treasuries has helped your Etsy shop.  If they have helped you leave a comment to tell how.

Its Vegas Baby!

My mom and I just got back from a trip together in Las Vegas.  We went for a bachelorette party for a friend of mine.  Our families have been friends since we were in 3rd grade.  We had a blast there and the bright lights everywhere are very exciting.  This is why I thought it would be fun to feature some products from Etsy that caught my eye and are Vegas themed.
